This recording was from a color class I taught June 23rd 2024 for online students.

In this workshop I demonstrate the Incamminati approach to the block study, showing students the concepts of light key by painting the same set-up in both artificial light, then in natural light. I discuss pigments, the rationale behind the prismatic palette, and the stages of developing the color study. After the initial block studies, I then demonstrate how to approach a color study of a more complicated organic form, in this case, a skull, and how to break down the study into more nuanced colors and plane changes.
